There are some situations where aerial access is needed to carry out e.g. maintenance and building work of some kind. Longer projects where there is sufficient space below can use \u2018more permanent\u2019 solutions e.g. Scaffolding. For more temporary work where scaffolding, ladders etc simply aren\u2019t suitable, a mechanical aerial access platform of some kind is needed. If significant outreach and horizontal manoeuvring is required, a cherry picker style solution may be best. Where vertical movement is all that is required or all that is practically possible, scissor lifts could be your answer.<\/p>

Scissor Lifts<\/strong><\/p>

Scissor lifts really come into their own where e.g. space is limited \/ there are narrow spaces and vertical access is required. Scissor lifts have a very small turning radius which makes them great in particularly tight areas. They also work just as well indoors e.g. in high ceiling spaces, as well as they do outdoors.<\/p>

Low emission electric motors and non marking tyres make comfortable indoor operation possible.<\/p>

They also have built-in features to make them more effective and safe outdoors e.g. four wheel drive and pothole protection. Safety features also include motion and descent alarms, manual descent, dual wheel automatic breaks and a horn.<\/p>

Ease of Operation<\/strong><\/p>

Scissor lifts can be easily operated by one person using a small joystick. There are built-in self diagnostics too, and facilities to allow uses to operate compressed air and power tools.<\/p>

Greater Capacity and Workspace<\/strong><\/p>

Scissor lifts are particularly useful where some heavier \/ bulkier materials need to be transported up to the site of the work e.g. pieces of board, cladding, tiles etc. They have a larger platform to allow for more working space and materials, and have a greater lifting capacity than e.g. cherry picker \/ boom style aerial access platforms. Although mainly vertically orientated, scissor lifts typically allow some deck \/ bridge extension. This makes them suitable and practical for a wide variety of jobs.<\/p>
