{"id":783,"date":"2019-01-15T13:22:25","date_gmt":"2019-01-15T13:22:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hoistandplant.co.uk\/?p=783"},"modified":"2020-11-03T12:31:04","modified_gmt":"2020-11-03T12:31:04","slug":"croydon-fairfield-halls-building-work-completed-this-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hoistandplant.co.uk\/index.php\/2019\/01\/15\/croydon-fairfield-halls-building-work-completed-this-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Croydon Fairfield Halls Building Work \u2013 Completed This Year"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Croydon\u2019s most famous music venue, Fairfield Halls, closed back in \nJuly 2016 and after some major construction work and a \u00a330 million \nredevelopment project, reports indicate that it\u2019s likely to re-open as a\n spectacular Arts Centre at the end of this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>History<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fairfield Halls was built on a site that hosted a popular fair up \nuntil 1860, hence the name of the building.&nbsp; Fairfield Halls opened in \n1962 and had a gallery, theatre and concert hall.
