There have been more reports in the Croydon papers about the Bellway \ndevelopment being built on the site of the old Jobcentre on Dingwall \nRoad. The new buildings are going to be two 24-storey blocks of \napartments. These 86 one-bedroom, 81 two-bedroom and 14 three-bedroom \napartments are, of course, only a short walk from East Croydon railway \nstation, so they\u2019re in a good location for those working in London.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Croydon, Brick by Brick appears to \nbe working on infill housing alongside other building developments \naround the Croydon borough, many of which started back in 2016. For \nexample, the council\u2019s local plan is to have 2,890 new homes built \nacross the borough by 2036 in order to help house Croydon\u2019s growing \npopulation which will soon exceed 400,000. Brick by Brick is working to\n help deliver this housing and the council reports that half of the new \nhomes that Brick by Brick build will be affordable, and all units will \nbe available solely to Croydon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Affordable Housing Projects in Croydon<\/p>\n\n\n\n Also, back in July 2017 the council set up Croydon Affordable Housing\n (CAH) in order to provide homes for Croydon residents that cost no more\n than 65% of the average market rent, and around 300 of the new-build \naffordable rented properties are being delivered for CAH through Brick \nby Brick.
